Judaism has been saying it for a few thousand years: taking care of yourself — body and soul (Nefesh)
The Jewish Wellness Program is The Osher Marin JCC’s new lineup of monthly wellness classes featuring six different ways to move, breathe, dance, hike, and exhale your way through the year. Come for one. Come for all. Everyone is welcomed!
Here’s the line up.

Jewish Meditation Series: 1st Monday of every month, 1:30–2:30 PM
Ever been curious about meditation but never knew where to start? Start here. Larry and Diane Yermack lead a monthly hour designed to help you build a practice that actually sticks — whether you’re brand new or picking one back up.
Upcoming dates: August 3 · September 7 · October 5 · November 2 · December 7

Community Hike: 2nd Sunday of every month, 10:30 AM–12:30 PM
Every Jewish month gets a fresh start, and so do you. Laura Schiff leads a moderate-to-easy hike to welcome each new month. Always within 30 minutes of the Marin JCC and always under three miles. Great trails, better conversation.
Upcoming dates: August 9 · September 6 (adjusted for the High Holidays) · October 11 · November 8 · December 13

Ecstatic Jewish Dance: 3rd Tuesday of every month, 3:30–5:00 PM
This is the wild card, and we mean that lovingly. Ninety minutes of joyful, unchoreographed movement to Jewish tunes, led by Laura Schiff. No steps to learn. No one watching. Just you, the music, and permission to let loose.
Upcoming dates: August 18 · September 22 · October 20 · November 17 · December 15

Shabbat Yoga: 4th Friday of every month, 1:30–3:00 PM
Shabbat is the original rest practice. Susan Cohen blends mindful movement with the Jewish tradition of pause and reflection, creating space to soften into the week’s end — not by doing more, but by simply being.
Upcoming dates: August 28 · September 25 (Sukkot Edition) · October 30 · November 20 (adjusted for the holiday) · December 18 (adjusted for winter holidays)

Israeli Folk Dance!: Tuesdays, 6-week series, 1:00–2:45 PM
A joyful mix of Israeli and world music with Bronwyn Eisenberg. The first hour is built for beginners and the second moves into intermediate-level dancing — so come for one hour, or stay for both. Perfect whether you’re starting fresh, returning after years away, or you’ve simply never stopped.
Series dates and pricing: check the website — Israeli Folk Dance is priced separately from the rest of the menu.

Holiday Yoga: special seasonal classes
Four times a year, Susan Cohen leads a yoga practice built around a Jewish holiday, weaving mindful movement, breath, and reflection with an emphasis on safety, accessibility, and options for every body. Each session closes with deep relaxation.

Pricing that works for you
Great facilitators deserve to be paid, and great programming should still be reachable. So we use a three-tier pricing system and let you choose:
Tier Pricing
- $10 Reduced Cost
- $20 Regular Cost
- $30 Bonus Cost (covers you + helps someone else)
Pick whichever tier fits your life right now. No forms, no explanation needed. Pricing applies to Meditation, Hike, Ecstatic Dance, Shabbat Yoga, and Holiday Yoga; Israeli Folk Dance is priced separately.
Come try one
You don’t have to overhaul your life. You just have to show up to one thing — a hike, a class, an hour on a mat — and see how it feels.
