“Gypsy Jazz” is a style of small-group jazz which originated in France in the 1930s. Romani guitarist Jean “Django” Reinhardt (“the most important figure in the genre”) and French swing violinist Stéphane Grappelli (also known at “the grandfather of jazz violinists”) are its founding fathers. This hopping style of music is also called “Hot Club Jazz,” “Romani Swing,” and “Manouche jazz.”

Celebrate the winter holiday season by joining us for complimentary refreshments and the joyful, upbeat sounds of the Gypsy Jazz quartet Le Hot Club Swing at this very special Musical Matinee.

About Le Hot Club Swing

Sonoma county based, Le Hot Club Swing is a quartet emulating the sounds and style of Django Reinhardt and Stephan Grappelli. Capturing the style and mood of the French/Manoche/Gypsy swing era, this dynamic group – consisting of Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Upright Bass, and assorted woodwinds – often leave audiences clamoring for more!

“Regular” Ticket: $20; available only in-person at the Front Desk of the Osher Marin JCC until the performance begins.
