FEB 8: FALSE FLAG

Not since Gideon’s Raff’s acclaimed Prisoners of War (SFJFF 2013) has there been such a provocative and compelling espionage thriller on Israeli TV. Fox International Channels picked up False Flag for global distribution in 127 countries, a first for a non-English-language series. In this story that could have been ripped from today’s headlines, five ordinary Israeli citizens with dual nationalities wake up one morning to discover that they are suspects in a high profile kidnapping. News channels around the world cover the incident, broadcasting video footage of the Iranian minister of defense being kidnapped during a secret visit to Moscow. Their passport photos flash across screens and the unrelenting news coverage turns their world upside down. The five Israelis are soon taken into custody. All attempts to deny involvement are in vain. Through a series a of twists and turns even loved ones begin to question, could they be guilty? False flags are covert government procedures designed to deceive the public into believing that the operation was carried out by another entity. Who is behind the event that threatens to be the next big international crisis?
