Join us as we examine Israeli cuisine from an anthropological perspective. Discover the social and political forces that have shapes Israeli cuisine as we know it today. Yalla Falafel — Known as NYC’s “Queen of Falafel”, Chef Einat Admony brings a delightful menu of dishes filled with bright and bold Mediterranean flavors.

 

Professor Azri Amram is a lecturer and researcher who specializes in the social, cultural, and political aspects of food and eating. He is an Israel Institute Teaching Fellow and serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Anthropology Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC). His primary research examines the intercultural relations between Jewish and Palestinian citizens of Israel within food spaces. Dr. Amram holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, as well as a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Tel Aviv University.
