Take a “once in a lifetime” journey to discover stunning wonders from ancient artifacts to art & artisans!
The National JCC Adult & Senior Alliance invites all to join our In-Person Cultural Arts Trip:
Captivating Cambodia: From Ancient Artifacts to Art & Artisans
January 4-(12), 2026
Join our 8-night, 5-star adventure to North, Central & South Vietnam to explore art & architecture, craft, culture, & cuisine, history, nature and more!
Cambodia is most famous for its UNESCO World Heritage-recognized Angkor Temples – the largest religious monument in the world and the seat of the Khmer kingdom from the 9th-15th centuries. The complex encompasses 400 ancient temples (no, we won’t visit all of them!) including the magnificent 12th century Angkor Wat (yes, we will visit this one!). Learn about its history; explore its crumbling, jungle-clad structures, maybe ascend the ancient steps to marvel at the details carved in stone.
However, beyond the ancient temples, this small kingdom is filled with captivating highlights! The town of Siem Reap teems with countless artists & artisans creating everything from intricate, traditional hand-woven silks and other age-old crafts to the contemporary fine arts of local masters. Visit studios, workshops, ateliers to explore the process, the creativity, the beauty in diverse types of works – ceramics, stone carving, weaving, lacquer and more!
Depart the busy city and its tourists to discover the lush countryside with rice paddies (and other crops), a floating village of Tonle Sap Lake, and a simple, authentic way of life.
Discover Cambodia, with its fascinating ancient & modern history, it’s mouth-watering, accessible cuisine, its emerging art scene, in city & countryside – all made more inviting by the gentle nature and genuine hospitality of the Cambodian people.
