In-Person Cultural Arts Trip – “Beautiful & Beguiling Bali”

Saturday, September 26 @ 6:00 pm Wednesday, October 7 @ 11:00 am

A person wearing a hat carries two woven baskets balanced on a pole across their shoulders, walking through lush green terraced rice fields with palm trees in the background.

Sat, Sep 26-(Wed, Oct 7 or Sun, Oct 11), 2026

Often regarded as a destination for honeymooners and affluent beach bums, the Indonesian island of Bali offers a rich, albeit overlooked, ancient heritage, beautiful arts & crafts, deep religious & cultural traditions, forward-thinking economic and environmental practices and much more.

Three people work meticulously on traditional batik fabric, drawing intricate brown and gold patterns by hand. The scene suggests a workshop setting with focus on the detailed textile art.

Discover diverse facets of the “Island of the Gods,” from ancient temples to lush rice fields, from traditional villages to idyllic beaches, from the visual & performing arts to the culinary arts and more!

A row of women in ornate gold traditional costumes and headdresses hold their hands in prayer, eyes closed, participating in a cultural or religious ceremony.

Although the predominant religion in Indonesia is Islam, over 90% of this island’s citizens practice Balinese Hinduism; a unique mix of Hindu doctrines, animistic beliefs – the belief that natural objects, natural phenomena, and the universe itself have souls – the worship of Buddhist saints and local customs. Visit historic sites important to this interesting mix of practices and beliefs.

A person snorkels underwater above a colorful coral reef, surrounded by vibrant orange and black fish. Another snorkeler is visible in the background amid clear blue water.

Extend your stay to explore and enjoy Bali’s stunning coast, stroll a pristine beach, splash or snorkel in the shimmering aquamarine-to-cobalt Bali Sea, and learn about the local sea ecology.
