Customer Service Representative

Customer Service Representative
As a Customer Service Representative, you’ll be the welcoming face and voice of our Center. Reporting to the Member Services & Retention Manager, you’ll serve as the first point of contact for both in-person visitors and callers, creating a positive, seamless experience for everyone who connects with us.
Key Responsibilities:
· Front Desk & Phone Management: Greet and assist all visitors, manage the main telephone console, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff or departments across campus.
· Information & Guidance: Provide clear and accurate program and scheduling information, help customers navigate the facility, and conduct tours when needed.
· Sales & Transactions: Accurately process prospect and new member data, program registrations, and ticket sales. Handle point-of-sale transactions using our proprietary database, accepting various payment methods, issuing receipts, and managing deposits.
· Database Management: Maintain database files for prospective members and program participants.
· Knowledge Hub: Stay fully informed about all Center programs, events, flyers, and daily campus activities, along with the physical layout of the facility.
· Desk Organization: Keep the courtesy desk area tidy and organized, ensuring all supplies are replenished as needed.
· Additional Support: Perform other duties as requested by your supervisor.
Qualifications:
· Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
· Technical Skills: Proficient with Windows and computer data entry, with the ability to quickly learn our proprietary database system.
· Customer Service Aptitude: Demonstrates a strong aptitude for telephone reception duties, accurate clerical work, and retail sales.
· Interpersonal Skills: Possesses an outgoing, poised demeanor and is comfortable interacting with a diverse public both in person and over the phone.
· Problem-Solving: Exhibits strong attention to detail, excellent common sense when handling various inquiries, and the ability to multitask and remain professional under pressure.
Compensation & Benefits:
· Pay Rate: $17.50- $18.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Preschool Teacher

Group Fitness & Aquatics Instructor
The Osher Marin Jewish Community Center in San Rafael, CA

The Group Fitness Aquatics Instructor reports to the Fitness Manager at the Osher Marin Jewish Community Center. This part-time role is responsible for leading engaging, safe, and enjoyable Aquatics Fitness classes in the indoor or outdoor pool, as appropriate.
Responsibilities
· Arrive at least five minutes early for class to ensure proper equipment set up and member interaction
· Plan and conduct aqua fitness classes for various fitness levels
· Ensure participant safety and proper technique
· Maintain a positive and motivating atmosphere
· Assure that all equipment is properly stored after class
· Confirm the number of students in class on our GXP app
· Communicate equipment problems & concerns to the Fitness Manager via email and text
· If unable to teach class, the teacher is responsible for finding an appropriate substitute and MUST inform the Fitness Manager with substitution information on time
· Develop relationships with class participants; learn names and workout patterns, ensuring member retention.
· Attend all staff meetings
· Clock in and out for each shift, and notify the Fitness Manager if you forget to do so
· Other duties, as assigned by the Group Fitness Supervisor

Director of Development
The Osher Marin Jewish Community Center in San Rafael, CA
Learn about the position.
The Director of Development provides the leadership, strategic direction, management, and coordination for Marin JCC’s fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Development creates and implements fundraising strategies that increase the organization’s support from individuals, corporations, foundations, events, and other sources. The Director oversees a dedicated and professional development department, currently made up of two full-time staff, Major Gifts Officer and Annual Giving Officer.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Oversees creation of development plan in consultation with CEO and Development Committee.
· Directs all development activities, including individual donors, events, and foundation grants to fulfill goals of approved plan.
· Cultivates and strengthens culture of philanthropy with Board of Directors and Center management and staff.
· Identifies, cultivates and solicits individual, foundation, and corporate contributions.
· Execution of grant proposals and oversees grant management to ensure all milestones are in place to meet development plan goals.
· Manages the development department in a fiscally sound manner and ensure that appropriate systems and procedures are in place to support fundraising goals.
· Works closely with the Board of Directors, a robust Development Committee, CEO, COO and Senior Management team to achieve goals.
· Performs general management responsibilities, including annual goals and budgets, reports, and evaluation of fundraising activities.
Qualifications:
· A minimum of 7 years of proven experience managing a complex fundraising department with a record of measurable results required.
· Bachelor’s degree required; CFRE or advanced degree preferred.
· Experience with donors in Marin County and specifically the Jewish philanthropic community in the region preferred.
· A strategist who is adept at planning, prioritizing, organizing, and following through; highly energetic and able to balance multiple competing priorities.
· A team builder with strong skills in supervision and leadership; must understand the subtleties of motivating and directing a diverse group of personalities.
· Ability to work in the JCC environment that honors pluralism, multiculturalism and support for Israel as the Jewish homeland.
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team, and maintains a healthy sense of humor.
Position and Compensation:
· Full-time onsite exempt (management level) position
· Salary range $125,000 – $150,000 annually, based on experience

Lifeguard
The Osher Marin Jewish Community Center in San Rafael, CA

We have several part-time lifeguard opportunities available – morning, evening and weekend shifts available! These YEAR-ROUND positions can range from 4-18 hours per week, with a flexible schedule. Benefits include JCC full facility membership and discounts on JCC programs/events and a friendly, warm environment!
Responsibilities:
- Guarding and providing a safe environment for members with a 15 – 30 minute pool rotation schedule.
- Learning and enforcing the pool rules as well as those guidelines set out by the American Red Cross as they pertain to lifeguard skills and training.
- Being fully alert and aware of emergencies and procedures.
- Performing pool opening procedures, closing procedures and participating in the daily maintenance of the pools.
- Installing and removing lane lines according to need and schedule.
- Interacting with the members appropriately and professionally.
- Attending mandatory monthly aquatic in-service trainings.
- Properly filling out incident and accident reports when necessary.
- Working as a team with other staff members.
Qualifications:
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/ First Aid/ CPR/ AED certification or equivalent.
- Must be able to stand/walk for up to 4 hours at a time, swim at least 300 yards continuously, and lift at least 50 lbs.
- The lifeguard should be reliable and responsible, with a strong sense of commitment to their job and to the Center’s larger purpose.
We are training lifeguards and will reimburse course fees after having worked 6 months continuously at the JCC.
