“There is a Season,” a program that features music that evokes the moods, feelings and colors of fall, winter and spring as well as MVP’s 18 seasons of accomplishment under the direction of Laurie Cohen.

MVP also performs a “concerto for orchestra” which highlights soloists from the various sections in the orchestra

  Winter: Arvo Pärt, Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten
  Spring: Robert Schumann, Symphony No. 1 (‘Spring’), op. 38 
  Alberto Ginastera, Variaciones Concertantes, op. 23

Mill Valley Philharmonicis an award-winning community orchestra providing dedicated volunteer musicians the opportunity to rehearse and perform orchestral repertoire.  Musicians come from all walks of life – from housekeeper to astrophysicist, from student to senior.  MVP is committed to presenting innovative programming, from masterworks to world premieres. They are based on a model of community engagement that reflects the belief that experiencing music as a community unites our spirits and our voices. MVP brings free, live orchestral music to people in their own communities to Marin and beyond.
