Exploring Broadway: Love Songs

Four Thursdays, February 2, 9, 16 & 23, 2023

1:00-2:30pm (PT), 2:00-3:30pm (MT), 3:00-4:30pm (CT), 4:00-5:30pm (ET)

on Zoom

Since “I love you” is – more or less – easily said, if in song, the sentiment must be expressed in a more clever, less cliché way. Go on a musical journey of love songs from over 40 Broadway shows from Show Boat through “the Golden Age” to recent hits. Join popular San Francisco Bay Area instructor James Sokol to explore the creative ways lyrics of love are expressed in a variety of melodies creating charming patter songs, soaring ballads, heartbreaking torch songs and more! Learn interesting tidbits about the shows themselves. Bask in the audio and video performance clips that bring the magic & excitement of Broadway musicals into our discussion.

Come for the shows; stay for the fun!

Please Note: This is a repeat of the series offered in 2021.

The email w/link will be re-sent to all registrants 1-2 hours prior to the event. NB: However, if it landed somewhere other than in your inbox upon registration, it will probably do the same later.
