If you have a young person in your life, it is very likely they have already accessed online pornography, or that they will in the future. There is a lot of misinformation out there about the impacts of viewing porn on young people’s social, emotional, psychological and sexual development.

Join moderator James Sokol and special guest Dr. Elizabeth Schroeder for an overview of the latest research pertaining to this and tips on how discuss this important topic with the young people in our families and lives.

About Dr. Elizabeth Schroeder

Elizabeth Schroeder, EdD, MSW, is an award-winning educator, trainer and author in the areas of sexuality education pedagogy, LGBTQ-affirming best practices, and working with adolescent boys. She has provided consultation to and direct education and training for schools, parent groups and youth-serving organizations in countries around the world for over 25 years.

Dr. Schroeder is the former executive director of Answer, a national sexuality education organization dedicated to providing and promoting unfettered access to comprehensive sexuality education to young people and the adults who teach them. She has also served as the associate vice president of education and training at Planned Parenthood of New York City, and, before that, manager of education and special projects at Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

Registrants are requested to make sure the email w/link has arrived by the evening of Sun, June 12th. If the email does not arrive, please see “Troubleshooting” below.

The email w/link will be re-sent to all registrants about 2-hours prior to the event. NB: However, if it landed somewhere other than in your inbox the first time, it will probably do the same later.

Late Troubleshooting: We will try our best – but cannot guarantee – help with Zoom links to guests contacting James less than 2-hours prior to the event.

Live Only: In agreement with our guides, artists, instructors, special guests, etc., events are not recorded. Make-up sessions are unavailable. Credit/refund is not given for missed events.

Liability: While we will do our best to remedy any issues, The Osher Marin JCC & its Program Partners cannot be held responsible for 1) issues related to Eventbrite or Zoom, 2) ticket buyers not following the instructions above, nor 3) packing, shipping, or deliver services of food/beverages not received in time for tasting events.
