Support Our JCC

Community is the heart of the JCC and you make all the difference in it.

Take full advantage of the JCC’s carefully designed programs to continue enjoying thought-provoking discussions, cultural arts, Jewish celebrations, health, and fitness for all in safe, socially distanced settings.

The group was inspired by a rabbi’s moving presentation of a Torah discovered during World War II in Czechoslovakia when he declared “I have come half-way around the world to bring this Torah from a Jewish community that died to a Jewish community that is about to be born.” In 1948, the dedication of the Marin Jewish Community Center occurred and the JCC began operating in a house at Mission and Forbes Streets in San Rafael.

By the early 1960s, the JCC had outgrown its facility and created a new home on North San Pedro Road. In 1980 a partnership of the Osher Marin JCC, Congregation Rodef Sholom, and Brandeis Marin Day School was created to develop a Marin Jewish Community Campus, one of the first of its kind in North America. The new campus opened in 1991 with a 60,000 square foot state-of-the-art JCC.

The Osher Marin JCC has earned nationwide respect for its model toddler and preschool programs, commitment to lifelong wellness, award-winning camp and teen programs, and outstanding performing arts center.

Big bold headline can go here and about today in.

Before 2020, we had over two thousand people passing through our doors daily to experience a breadth of programs and opportunities for enjoying a healthy, enriching life. Now just a few hundred people enter through the back gate each week (for a health screening prior to swims and workouts), but our new, online programs are reaching hundreds more. The pandemic has forced us to pivot our programming for social distancing. We now offer exciting online and virtual programming, including instructor-led group fitness classes, yoga, live concerts, global cultural arts trips, great speakers and authors, and many discussion groups for books, documentaries, and current affairs.

While our facilities may not be fully open, our programs are and our commitment to our community has never been stronger.

Make a Gift of Securities

Making a gift of securities is often one of the best ways to maximize the tax benefits of your gift, particularly if the securities have appreciated in value since you originally purchased them.

Give with a Matching Gift

The Osher Marin JCC is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that is eligible for most Employer Matching Gift Programs. We are not classified by the IRS as a religious organization like synagogues and churches, but rather as a civic organization which qualifies your gift for tax deductibility.

Why is a Legacy gift important?

Legacy gifts help ensure the long-term sustainability and financial health of the OMJCC.

What are the benefits of making a Legacy gift?

We all want to make a difference, leave a legacy, and make life better for future generations. Donors to the Osher Marin JCC Legacy Society are following the example of our founders and insuring their own personal legacy by including the OMJCC in their estate plans.
