More Jewish Teens, More Meaningful Jewish Experiences
BBYO will be one of the world's leading Jewish movements, convening and connecting teens of all backgrounds who will become inspired to live Jewish lives while making a difference in the world. AZA and BBG will be recognized as the preeminent leadership training and character development program for the teen audience and will be core to driving the movement forward. BBYO Connect will attract 6th, 7th and 8th graders with a compelling menu of social and meaningful experiences. These entities will meet the needs and interests of a new generation and will challenge the entire Jewish teen community to celebrate and contribute to their heritage. BBYO's umbrella of innovative experiences – service and action, college and career prep and travel – and technologies will provide the Jewish community with a robust and effective way of delivering meaningful Jewish content to teens.
BBYO offers safe and welcoming opportunities for learning and growth to all Jewish teens regardless of background, denominational affiliation, sexual orientation and socio-economic status. BBYO encourages Jewish teens to find meaning in Judaism and to develop their own Jewish identities. Committed to a pluralistic experience, BBYO attempts to accommodate and provide a comfortable environment across the halachic (Jewish law) spectrum. BBYO's international leadership model, AZA and BBG, prides itself on fun and meaningful teen-led programming, its responsibility to the global Jewish community, an unwavering commitment to the State of Israel, and its dedication to tikkun olam – repairing the world.
BBYO Connect is the BBYO experience made just for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students offering social and meaningful experiences that will serve as a gateway to continued involvement in Jewish life.
BBYO Connect offers teens a variety of experiences to help bridge the gap between immediate pre- and post- Bar/Bat Mitzvah and High School programs. The purpose is to provide middle school students with a positive experience in which they can get together with camp, school, and synagogue friends, as well as meet new friends. BBYO Connect allows middle school students to begin experiencing the privileges and obligations of being a member of the Jewish and general communities. Focused on service, social, and Judaic programming, BBYO Connect builds a network of teens across North America at a critical age when middle school students begin to strengthen their identities, form social circles and prepare for high school and beyond.
