A Taste of Talmud: Bay Area Community Talmud Circle with Deena Aranoff
Sun, September 10, 2017 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
A Taste of Talmud:
Introductory sessions to Talmud and its development with Deena Aranoff. Suggested for new students before joining an ongoing Bay Area Talmud Circle.
In these introductory sessions, we will explore how the Talmud developed and engage in a conversation with the text, the great sages and our modern world. These sessions will provide students who are new to Talmud study with the background to join one of our ongoing Bay Area Community Talmud Circle cohorts.
The Bay Area Community Talmud Circle is a growing, dynamic and welcoming community of adult students engaged in modern Talmud study and active conversation. This unique project is a collaboration of Lehrhaus Judaica and The Aleph Society of Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz, hailed by TIME magazines as a "once-in-a-millennium scholar."
Circles exist around the Bay Area and meet monthly in person from October through June. Come for a taste, stay for the meal!
Co-sponsored by Lehrhaus Judaica, and the
2 Sessions: Sunday, Sept 10th and 17th
