She is Wisdom
Tuesday May 16 @ 7pm
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Join us for a powerful evening, celebrating the Feminine Divine. Raver will discuss her research and insights in an illustrated lecture of pertinent themes from her new book She Is Wisdom. Following her presentation, Raver will share Letters from Wisdom, a simple, powerful technique combining breath and guided meditation, in which participants receive guidance for their life in the form of a loving letter from Wisdom. Raver has conducted hundreds of letter writing sessions for thousands of women. The tone of these letters has a truly remarkable similarity –profoundly insightful, supportive and gentle. Copies of She Is Wisdom will be available for sale, and a book signing will follow the program.
ABOUT THE BOOK
This exquisite volume uncovers a little known gem in the Wisdom Literature. Raver focuses on scribe and scholar Ben Sira's poetic homage to the Feminine Divine in Ecclesiasticus (written in 180 BCE), also known as Sirach. Sira’s powerful words are paired with resonant images by beloved artists, including Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso, Dali and Chagall.
Raver first came across Ben Sira’s work on the tragic day of 9/11 when she quickly realized that “despite all the darkness and sorrow in the world, I was reminded that there is a source of light and strength to be found in the Divine Feminine." She is Wisdom is a beautiful book to treasure and to share.
