June is The Marx Brothers month!

Born in New York City, the sons of Jewish immigrants from Germany and France, The Marx Brothers were an American family comedy act that was successful in vaudeville, on Broadway, and in motion pictures from 1905 to 1949. They are widely considered by critics, scholars, and fans to be among the greatest and most influential comedians of the 20th century. Five of the Marx Brothers' thirteen feature films were selected by the American Film Institute as among the trop 100 of comedy films, with tow of them (Duck Soup and A Night at the Opera) in the top 12. Come celebrate these classic comedians with our Senior Cinema line-up in June 2018!

A Night at the Opera

The Marx Brothers run amuck in the world of opera when Otis B. Driftwood (Groucho Marx) meets aspiring singer Ricardo (Allan Jones), who is determined to win the love of fellow performer Rosa (Kitty Carlisle). Aided by Fiorello (Chico Marx) and Tomasso (Harpo Marx), Otis attempts to unite the young couple, but faces opposition from the preening star Lassparri (Walter Woolf King), who also has his sights on Rosa. Traveling from Italy to New York, Otis and friends rally to try and win the day.

Registration is not needed.
