LOS PINGUOS came to the US from cosmopolitan Buenos Aires, Argentina, with a mixture of Latin rhythms, performed with Spanish guitars, bass and harmonizing vocals. Vivacious and infectious, the sound of Los Pinguos has claimed fans worldwide, from their hometown in Buenos Aires to the beaches in Bali, to the mountains in Montana and back to the clubs in Los Angeles.

Since then, they have recorded six new albums and played with such acts as Ozomatli, Taj Mahal, The Skatalites, The Neville Brothers, Pablo Montero, Paul Anka, Plácido Domingo, Yerba Buena, Charly Garcia and famed Argentinean rockers Bersuit Vergarabat. They also appeared at the 2005 SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL with female songstress Suzanne Vega. The band also participated in the award-winning documentary on street musicians entitled "Playing for Change." Los Pinguos have appeared on three of the famous Putumayo World Music compilations, "Baila!", "Radio Latino" and most recently, "World Party." They continue to tour around the U.S. and plan to tour Europe in 2014.

Article about LoCura

LoCURA taps into the diverse sounds that have a rich history in the Bay Area, weaving them together in an uncanny way to reveal their common roots.

Mixing Flamenco with Reggae and Cumbia with Ska through contagious rhythms and multiple languages; LoCura's music takes you on a ride through a day in the emerging globalized experience where the movement of people and ideas are in constant flux. LoCura’s music rides the borders of identity and migration, piecing together a mosaic of their myriad cultures and experiences. In Spain, the expression "Ida y Vuelta" is used to describe certain styles within Flamenco that made a “round-trip” from Spain to Latin America, mixing with music from the African slave and Indigenous populations. With this idea of music traveling and music as creative resistance, LoCura takes the trip back again mixing it up with their own Califas Flamenkito, Reggae, and Cuban Son styles.

Kata Miletich (vocals)
Bob Sanders (guitar)
Danny Cao (trumpet)
Isaac Weiser (Bass)
Segio Duran (percussion)

The wooden dance floor will be set on the turf for this event and Norma Prieto will be leading the audience in a pre-event Latin dance class to keep you moving thoughout the night.
