"Stunning instrumental and vocal virtuosity." Relix Magazine

"Few things rejuvenate the soul like a warm fireside drink after an exhausting day in the snow. Hot Buttered Rum has that effect. Their original songs are instantly familiar and inviting, and their easygoing versions of timeless classics (the Beatles, Hank Williams) belie the intricacy of the arrangements."San Francisco Chronicle

Hot Buttered Rum is a five-piece newgrass jam band based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Their aim is to weave together the traditions of folk and bluegrass with the modern influences of rock, reggae and acoustic singer/songwriters. The group values creativity in both its instrumental work and songwriting.

Described by some as a "rock band playing bluegrass instruments," the band describes what they do as, "high altitude California bluegrass." Call it bluegrass fusion, newgrass or a post modern string band, Hot Buttered Rum is one of the hardest-working and fastest-rising stars in the musical world.

Hot Buttered Rum always hits the stage with a repertoire of well-crafted songs and an onstage chemistry that fuels the love fest that is a live HBR show.

Aaron Redner, fiddle, acoustic and electric mandolins & vocals.

Bryan Horne, double bass & vocals.

Erik Yates, banjos, guitars, woodwinds & vocals.

Lucas Carlton, drums & percussion.

Nat Keefe, guitar & vocals.
